Cape St Francis Mini Market for sale
Cape St Francis is situated in the beautiful Eastern Cape province of South Africa, and it lies 5km from the magnificently  thatched village of St Francis Bay. Humansdorp is the nearest “bigger “ town, a quick 15 kms away.  The areas attractions boast a diverse range of fauna and flora, as well as being home to the highly rated waves which attract surfers both locally and internationally. The entire Kouga area is in the early stages of growth. Future developments in the immediate area include the proposed Rocky Coast Farm and further away, the proposed Thyspunt Nuclear power pebble bed power station.
Owning a business in Cape St Francis positions one to take advantage of this growing trend of the increased number of visitors to this ecological wonder as well as landlocked suburbanites, who are tired of the high levels of crime in land and are starting to re-locate to this area. Cape St Francis Mini MarketCape St Francis has an eclectic mix of full time residents who are committed to keeping the area green, clean and small and the area is a registered conservancy. St Francis Bay also boasts a small working fishing harbor as well as a base station for the NSRI.  CSF is also home to the Lighthouse, as well as the penguin and sea bird rescue centre, where birds are viewed through a glass viewing window and one is able to “adopt” a penguin and contribute to its rehabilitation.
CSF also has 4 pubs, 6 restaurants, as well as the popular Cape St Francis Resort.  The beach walks in the area are breathtaking, as are the nature  reserve areas.
St Francis Bay, the town 5kms up the road,  has a medical centre ( doctors, dentists, physiotherapist), veterinary clinic, pharmacy, hardware shop, hairdressers, restaurants, banking facilities, 2 links golf courses  and a variety of other businesses. The area boasts an eco school ( just outside St Francis Bay on the road to Humansdorp) as well as other schools in Humansdorp.  The Kromme River runs through the town down to the sea and is navigable for miles and miles. The St Francis Links golf course is at the entrance to the town of St Francis Bay and it has been voted Best Golf Course of the year for 2 years running.
Numerous little farming towns are dotted around the area and are but a delight to explore.
The CSF Mini Market has been in operation for approximately 20 years under the ownership of various people. The current owners bought the business in August 2007 – relocating from Johannesburg.
The reason for selling is that they are also involved in their daughters catering business and also want to travel,  a long held dream.
The shop is a little gold mine which has the potential to do even better and basically the new owners can make it anything they want to, due to the fact that we are the only general dealer/”everything else” shop in the area. The shop is fully stocked, the debtors ( a small select group) are good customers and good payers and the stock is all paid for. As an independent the suppliers insist on COD. The stock offering is virtually everything from a toothpick to a screwdriver, as well as fresh fruit and organic veggies & salads as well as an expanding health food section. Frozen home  cooked meals, frozen meat/chicken, bait, chips, cigarettes, sweets, ice creams, dairy products, pet foods,DVD’s for rental, internet cafĂ©, breads, bakes, cold drinks, fresh flowers, pre-filled gas bottles, very small hardware section, braai wood/brikkets, ( are you getting the picture??) Currently the shop space is rented on a 5 year lease with a 2 year renewal option. The owners of the building have indicated that they would be very happy to enter into a 7 year or longer lease period. There is opportunity to build a wooden deck on the roof for sit and stay food as well as  to  expand and grow the take away business which was very popular over the season and holidays. Week-end trade is brisk and getting busier. A re-cycling project is in full swing and is well supported. We also have the only Lotto machine in the area.
The staff compliment is 3 cashiers working full time. During season this was increased to 4 cashiers & 1 full time packer, who doubled as a general majo domo.  1 cleaner employed one day a week.  Both owners work full time in the shop as well.
All purchases & sales figures are available to serious buyers.
